From the Politico: President Barack Obama’s top advisers are quietly laying the groundwork for the 2012 reelection campaign, which is likely to be run out of Chicago and managed by White House deputy chief of staff Jim Messina, according to Democrats familiar with the discussions.

So much for Obama being "quite comfortable" about being a one-term president. Hopefully 2010 will bring about enough change in Congress to help tame Obama's worst excesses, because I don't think the GOP has a viable candidate to go up against him. Yet.

Just setting up a reelection campaign doesn't mean he's going to run. Dozens of people do that for every election, just to test the waters and to be ready just in case the water is warm enough to suit them when the time comes.

Personally, this is good news to me, but I'm not counting on anything where politics are concerned.

I didn't think he ever disbanded his campaign, but was just running it out of the oval office now.

He never said he wasn't going to run again, or that he wanted to be a one term pres. He just said he'd rather do the job he wanted to do even if it meant he was only a one term president.

I am of the opinion that we need to do away with multi-term offices completely. Getting reelected seems to be every politicians Job #1 and that means the country will always come second (or worse).

Prez, Senators, Reps, all get a single 6 year term. 1 and done. Do your best for the country and go on to something else.
