"....sweetened suddenly by fresh billions for student aid and a sense that breakthroughs are at hand."
"The measure would require the government to originate student loans, closing out a role for banks and other private lenders who charge a fee. Obama proposed taking the savings and plowing it into higher Pell Grants that go to needy college students"

Is this how we pass a health care bill, by giving away billions of dollars more that we do not have in the treasury? What happened to PayGo?

So typical, the democrats never fix anything, they just toss more money at any problem, and the empty-headed-liberal-lemmings could care less about the debt, cuz its all free!!

In the SOTU address our president said he asked our colleges and universities to lower their tuition rates, because the cost for a college education was out of reach for most Americans. He has done absolutely nothing to try and lower college tuition, and now he is encouraging them to go ahead and keep increasing tuition rates, because he is subsidizing them with borrowed money from China.

College tuition rates too high? Don't worry, toss billions of dollars at it, with money borrowed from countries like China.

Health care costs too high? Don't worry, toss billions of dollars at it, with money borrowed from countries like China.

Why bother to fix a problem, when we taxpayers can go trillion of dollars in debt and just absorb the costs?

Where will all these savings be when we are paying $800 billion a year on the interest for the national debt, that these clowns are creating? Lets see the CBO factor that in, but of course, the CBO never factors in things like that.

The only fact you stated, was that the US has debt. I can agree with that.

Since you like to spout big numbers, here's some fodder.

Or if you really want to get depressed - U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time

The unfunded liabilities for Medicare and Medicaid alone are something like $50 trillion.
