So it seems this country might just turn out a decent democracy as far as the middle east concerned. Either way I don't think we should have gone in. But why has this disappeared when we spent and still spend so much money on this war. Never hear about it anymore. Are still leaving in August as Obama said, or what? What's going on there?

Reuters publishes a daily "Factbox" of incidents from around Iraq each day.

For instance,

FACTBOX - Security developments in Iraq, Feb 25

FACTBOX - Security developments in Iraq, Feb 23

Here is an overview of the month so far:

Operation Iraqi Freedom - Iraqi Deaths

Looks like the last big massacre happened on the 22nd, the last large, deadly bombing happened on the 18th, and the biggest bombing of the month (which killed 54) happened on the 2nd.

So, it's certainly not a safe country by any means, but we'll have to wait until after the elections to see which trends take hold.

Its actually going pretty good just waiting on elections. I did 2 tours over there and things have gotten alot better. There are still bombings but less frequent the media never talks about it though.
