The Democrat-controlled Congress, with help from President Obama's big government vision, is on track to double the national debt in four years.
USA Today published an interactive chart that provides annual revenue, spending, deficit and national debt numbers. The most frightening number is the national debt.
When the Pelosi/Reid left-wing Democrats took control of Congress, the national debt stood at $9 trillion.
I'm sorry you find it impossible to understand that tax cuts which are granted but which require borrowing from foreign banks to fund are the reason the debt accumulates.
Facts...the total national debt was less than $1 trillion when reagan cut taxes. By the time he and Bush41 left office the national debt had quadrupled to $4.4 trillion.
Bill Clinton raised taxes bact to the rates they were before Reagan and it took him eight years but the annual budget was balanced and when he left office the congress and administration were arguing about how to spend the surpluses.
The first thing George W. Bush did was cut the taxes back to Reagan's rates with half going to the wealthiest 1% of taxpayers and began to borrow from foreign banks to fund them. He was the first U S president to borrow from Communist Chinese banks and now we owe them nearly a trillion dollars.
It's low tax rates for rich people which cause the debt and Reagan/Bush41 and George W. Bush's administrations borrowed 80% of all the debt this great republic accrued in 233 years. That's a fact.

They had to change the debt clock in NY Times Square to accomodate another digit. Obviously the ones who designed it never thought that would be necessary.
Something you folks may not know. In the 1950's the tax structure required that anyone who earned over $300,000 a year paid 93% of the excess to the IRS. We used to pay for wars and other needs with taxes...up till Reagan we paid our way!
I might add that Richard Clarke stated that in George W. Bush's first staff meeting VP Cheney said, "The Debt Doesn't Matter...Reagan Proved That!"
A point...the Republican majority used reconciliation to ram through the George W. Bush Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001, The Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003 and the Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act of 2005 Fancy names for tax cuts!!

Initiated massive tax cuts and after his unnecessary invasion left them in place for the wealthy
The well off made out like bandits for eight years while working America actually lost ground when inflation was included
His "Bubble" economy and Housing Boom fell flat on it's face and the beginning of the worst recession and still...possible depression in modern times fell upon our country while he and his buddies Paulson and Bernanke took a trillion dollars of BORROWED taxpayer's money and shifted it directly to the biggest banks and financial institutions in the world with no strings attached. There was absolutely no written requirement for them to loan to anyone except whoever they wanted to.
Most people's savings took a serious hit, our's lost about 1/3 of what it was worth in October 2007. That money will never be recouped for 90% of us.
Other than that he was a C student who was refused admission to law school in his own state for academic reasons who could speak about like one of my grandchildren who is in middle school. If his name had been Smith he couldn't have qualified to manage a Walmart Superstore.

Somehow I missed any reference to Obama, but it seemed everyone else was covered. Is Obama just a witness to history or has he accepted his inheritence as president and showed up for work? He best just sit there as he has been doing and repeat the words, "first, do no harm".
Of course GWB had a hurricane of historic proportions, world trade center bombing and aftermath and Iraq which did require a ridiculous amount of money.
It's not really a poll about Obama as much as it is against the canned agenda he was picked to lead. As president he demonstrates not a vestige of leadership. Those tax cuts started a 54 consecutive months of job growth. Not hardly an wealthy only thing.
Come back when Obama gets 2 months in a row of job growth!!! Then maybe can can celebrate something. He is only 9 million jobs in the hole.
