Nah, the State doesn't get $190 Million per day that it's taxpayers have already paid for in taxes to the Federal Gov't, so the State will be short $190 Million per day to fund road/highway/construction projects that are pending/ongoing and the people who work them and are stuck driving in them and around them have to wait longer and have money diverted from elsewhere to make up the difference.

It's not saving money, it's getting the money that is due to you, but is getting held up because someone is playing politics...again.

I don't like the way he's grandstanding but he is right in principle. The government is so screwed up and unable to manage its fiscal affairs that we may need a major confrontation or crisis to shock the bozos and gangsters on capitol hill back to reality.

I agree as well that he's got a point to make, but he's going about it the wrong way, and hurting not only his constituents and other American's in order to hold the stage.

No one will be hurt.. Congress will vote to allocate funds and backdate spending. Its Democrats who simply need to find the $10B to pass the bill..

What the hell happened to the unspent TRILLION dollar stimulous package?? That is the reason Bunning is holding out on voting for this. Of course the Democrats omit that elephant in the room.

I'm tired of the government spending money that it does not have, but I also realize that the job market sucks and many people are unemployed and it is not their fault. The fault is directly pointed toward Washington and the U.S. Congress that has been wasting money and making poor decisions for years. During the last administration, they spent money like it was growing on cherry blossom trees that line the Washington streets. We now call this the lost decade.

In the end, the unemployment rate tells the tale and the extension is necessary. But, I also believe that our unemployment system needs to be totally revamped. We need a works program, that requires a person to work and learn before receiving their check. Maybe we can replace each congressman and senator with a unemployed worker. They couldn't do any worse and they would get the greatest health insurance on the planet. We could just work a 6 month rotation. I can only tolerate congress for about 6 months at a time anyway...
