If you're desperate to suck up to the network bosses, act like a stooge. Maddow and Olbermann do it all the time. News and the truth doesn't matter on MSNBC.

Not sure why someone would go on a show unprepared to answer questions. The 'guest' was asked several times if the Tea Party welcomed certain factions with open arms. Simple 'yes' or 'no' question to which the 'guest' could provide no actual response and to which the only suitable response was 'no.'
His omission speaks volumes. And, IMO, his treatment was warranted.

Dylan Ratigan Goes Off On Tea Party Guest, Kicks Him Off Show: 'You're Offensive' (VIDEO)
First of all, barely anyone in America knows who Dylan Ratigan is, and secondly there is no such thing as a tea party leader. There are people who organize people together to attend events, but there is no one who decides who can attend a rally.

I've never heard of Mark Williams, but Ratigan seemed to be confrontational from the very beginning, it seems clear he invited Williams on just to savage him, in a shameful attempt to hopefully gain some ratings; he is on MSNBC after all.

How can a person characterize this as an interview, when the host labels the tea party as consisting of racist people "who are in, to killing blacks and Jews and women"? Its clear that Ratigan was establishing himself as the standard for a wingnut, and with the amused look Williams had on his face, its clear he thought so too.

You know the old saying that you should not interrupt your opponent if he is making an idiot out of himself? Well, here we have Ratigan doing his level best to prevent Williams from interrupting him. This should be an embarrassment to any news organization, what a shameful event.

Simple minded people can only understand things in simple "yes or no" terms...

If he says "yes," then he's a racist. If he says "no," then he doesn't support free speech. Either way, MSNBC gets to assassinate his character.

The question was clearly a trap, and the guest didn't take the bait. The host was looking for a fight, and the Tea Party representative wasn't.

BTW, I didn't see anybody at the protests, on the news, or here in these forums EVER criticize the people holding the posters comparing Bush to Hitler or calling for his untimely demise during his Presidency. Would anyone that's supporting Ratigan's actions here care to address that inconsistency?

Really, is it any wonder that those who ONLY watch these types of "news" have such a skewed view??
The dozen or so people watching this at home that cheering Ratigan on are the only viewers MessNBC will have in the near future. But this seems to be their goal.

Ratigan went on a 2 minute rant accusing the guy of leading a group that wants to kill women, blacks and Jews. Ratigan hurled numerous insults accusations at Williams, and when he tried to respond to any of these he was continuously interrupted .

If this had been a normal interview i would agree with you that the guest should respond to questions, but this was clearly not an interview, it was a public lynching. I guess it must be Williams' fault for not speaking up that the thick rope from the noose was too tight, and causing abrasions on his neck.

How does Dylan Ratigan still have a job after that interview? MSNBC must be desperate for anchors.

I don't care if it is MSNBC, FauxNews, I don't need yelling interviewers who over talk their guest.
Ratigan was just as unprofessional as any that I've seen.

He did kind of the same thing to Rep. Debbie Wasserman. They actually took away his late morning timeslot away and stuck him in the late afternoon. I think they also cut his show from two hours to one hour. They changed the name of his show, but it is still his show. I understand that he was not happy about this change.
