Obama Now Selling Judgeships for Health Care Votes? | The Weekly Standard

Quote:
Tonight, Barack Obama will host ten House Democrats who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; he's obviously trying to persuade them to switch their votes to yes. One of the ten is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today President Obama nominated Matheson's brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Coincidence? Not with this scam artist - this is typical Chicago-style politics.

What is amazing is that he must be so desperate (obamacare is his Waterloo) that he doesn't even care about the optics of this.

As usual, you take a some far right wing website that is making a speculation, coming here and claiming it as fact.

From the article:

Quote:
So, Scott Matheson appears to have the credentials to be a judge, but was his nomination used to buy off his brother's vote?
That's about it. A puff piece trying to connect the dots and create something out of nothing. You then come here and base your assertion on a suggestion.

Way to go.

"Whatever it takes to get health care done," - Does that include selling judgeships?

That - is - just - frakkin - awesome. Didn't Obama address the nation today regarding passing healthcare? Didn't he mention something about removing some of those parts about influencing votes?

What - a - frakkin - hypocrite

The fraud just goes on and on.....

That this inexperienced travesty of a chief executive, Obama, more a byproduct of timing and media collaboration, than his own worth, or accomplishment, is personally advocating for the so-called nuclear option is the final straw.

Reconcile this, you distasteful, malevolent little quisling punk - a timely reminder of some words I never thought would have such import during my lifetime.
Plenty more at the link... words I would like to have written myself.

Yes, Obama learned the ins and outs of Chicago style politics quite well and is now exporting them to the federal level. Now the rest of the country gets a taste of our Chicago politics in action.

Knowing this Chicago-styled goon, if I were one of the ten democrats I'd try to stay in front of the public until the dust settles. If memory serves me, they never found Jimmy Hoffa.

Sure can't say the guy isn't qualified. In fact, where was he when we appointed that racist retread Sotomayor to the Supreme Court?

Thing is the timing stinks to high Heaven and is far, far beyond just suspicious. BO is going to go down in history as the sleaziest president ever. Yes, even sleazier that Nixon and Clinton.

It seems that both political parties are fighting solely over the contents of a new heathcare bill.

Seems they SHOULD be questioning whether the present situation should be totally scrapped and replaced by a government-run plan. Neither side is seriously considering an alternative to the total demise of the present system. Nobody is seriously considering whether more regulation of the present healthcare system would not accomplish the same thing more cheaply.

Obama and his goons just want ANY HEALTHCARE BILL IN ANY FORM. They seem to be using the same strategy that was used in Social Security,....getting a foot in the healthcare door and writing the nitty-gritty details they want once the bill becomes law and is not so much in the glare of public scrutiny.

Obama will do anything to get A bill, including applying whatever pressure is necessary, or buying off the opposition. What a freakin' mess.
