Politics as usual. It's nothing new.

Have those of you who are outraged by this lived in a barn all your lives, or have you just been ignoring politics until now? If you think this is bad, go back and look at how politics was practiced in the late 19th century. Today is mild by comparison.

As the spirit of the drunk Senator from Wisconsin sighs contentedly in his grave, he knows his 'work' continues......................................... ..

As others have pointed out, this was at an official RNC meeting presented by an RNC official:RNC Finance Director Rob Bickhart.

It's despicable that the Republican Party has officially sunk this low in our politics. The Finance Director for the RNC should be fired immediately if the Republicans have any sense of decency.

The Republicans KNOW this President isn't anywhere close to being a "socialist." And for those of you that repeat this nonsense, how does it make you feel that the RNC is actually mocking you while using you at the same time?

The small donors who are the targets of direct marketing are described under the heading “Visceral Giving.” Their motivations are listed as “fear;” “Extreme negative feelings toward existing Administration;” and “Reactionary.”

Major donors, by contrast, are treated in a column headed “Calculated Giving.”

So, let's get this straight.

The RNC Finance Director and the RNC Finance Chairman meet with RNC members at and RNC retreat and give a presentation (put together by the Republican finance staff) that begins with:

and this is not an offical RNC meeting? OK. Then I'm sure none of it was funded by the RNC, right? The RNC finance director and RNC finance Chairman are "going rogue" and doing this all by themselves?

Fine. Then fire them both. If the RNC needs to distance itself from what two of it's top officials are "unofficially" doing, they should be canned.

Unless, by "unofficial" you mean "secret stuff we never thought would get out, but some numbnut left a hard copy behind in the meeting hall." I have a feeling that guy is more likely to get punished than the RNC officials that put this thing together.

Karl Rove used the same comparison to justify smear and fear tactics. Regardless, in my opinion, it still shows a lack of character when it's sanctioned by anybody in an official capacity or condoned by same.

When I see and hear that kind of manure and am expected to believe it, I'm thinking this gal/guy thinks I'm stupid! Maybe you like people talking to you like you're a child or an idiot, I don't.

All of this of course ignores the fact that the GOP has done NONE of the items proclaimed, nor have they used ANY of these "images"..

Sure looks like politico playing upon typical fears of "Republicans" using bs...

Yes, it is just you, as always.

And TRUST me..... I worked for the RNC fundraising bunch during the '94 midterms and they are going to put EVERY fear tactic known to man in the script they are using to raise funds....

I can see it now. The script will have at LEAST 2 or 3 references to Obama's "Socialist" programs and at least 3 references to their "Freedom"...

This isn't to say that the DNC doesn't use similar tactics, but I can only speak to what I know and have seen....

Can't disagree.... Again, back to '94.... I cannot TELL you how many people were fed up then. I can only imagine the cursing and the tirades and the hang-ups that RNC folks are getting right now...

I can still hear them plain as day: "FOR CRYIN' OUT LOUD!!!! I GAVE $20 TO A GUY RAISING MONEY FOR A LOCAL CANDIDATE EIGHT YEARS AGO AND YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN CALLING ME WITH THIS NON-SENSE EVER SINCE!!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!"

(by the way, the ONLY way to get off the RNC call list is to die..... FYI... )

Oh, my other favorite quote which I'm sure the RNC gets more than the DNC: "Sir, I can't GIVE you any more money.... I'm on a VERY fixed income..."

(So we'd press the button and call them back in two weeks... ).

The tactics at the national committee level are downright disgusting folks.
