We have discussed the possibility of Affirmative Action for low socioeconomic Whites? However, we haven't discussed what impact that would have? Do you think if AA for low socioeconomic Whites existed, would there be less extremist right wing views in this country?

Sure it would and affirmtive action should only go by socioeconmic level anyway

Deep down these people are scared. I've attended a Tea Party in my hometown.

For the most part these are elderly, blue collar whites who don't fit in today's workforce. They grew up in an age of white male entitlement. When only the Dad worked and minorities were just the the hired hands. They are being marginalized. Manufacturing jobs are going away. Good paying middle class jobs are going away. They are bitter but clueless to the fact their own right wing ideology created this whole mess 40 years ago when they stopped voting in their own self interest.

MAnufacturing jobs are leaving due to advances in technology and NAFTA.

Who sigend NAFTA? A right winger?

And should we stop inventing new technologies?

Do you have a clue as to what you are talking about or are you just making assumptions?

A Republican Congress passed it and a Democratic President signed NAFTA.

Where did I place any blame about the loss of manufactruing jobs on anybody?

It's just a fact. Low skilled whites have been unable to cope with the loss of manufacturing jobs.

But not to go off on a tangent...but after NAFTA was enacted in 1994 job growth was above average

No it would just put the economy into even worse shape as far as the cream of the crop coming to the lead. The Tea Party is just a shift and likely the revoltion coming from years of massive government growth and power. Like the savings rate its just as they said in the 60;'s a sign of the times and shift from the massive governamnt entittlemnts collpase that has been coming for years and was just pushed to the top by Obamas massive spending in the first year with no results.

What do you mean no results?

You have a crystal ball that shows what the economy would look like if there was no stimulus?

Grown up will you?

Interesting that you would equate AA for low socioeconomic whites with the Tea Party. Demographics show it's members to be largely male, 30-49 age group, more college educated, and of higher income than the general population.

Tea-Party Demographics | Conservative Cabbie

Given that, why would the Tea Party benefit from Affirmative Action?

Your poll is from the 11% of tea party attendee's considered "activists", as oppossed to the movement as a whole.

Thos figures for the tea party "activists" are not suprising at all.

Of course these poor uneducated whites are going to look to the 11% among them who have a college degree.

Have you seen the spelling mistakes on their signs?

They need help.

Well then I'm sure you have the demographics from the movement as a whole. Please share.
