I'm a Libertarian Democrat. Ever heard of that one?
I like many of the ideas from the Libertarian ideology as is, and others I would modify somewhat based on the fact that we have situations in existence that cannot be immediately undone without catastrophic results making recovery a long time in coming. I could write many of these in detail but this audience would not appreciate my doing so. Libertarians can also demonstrate what a genuine free market is and help erase the negative connotations of the version that neocons have promoted that is in reality a faux market controlled by government/corporate interests.
Democrats are the kinder, gentler control freaks with whom I believe it will be easier to work to modify thinking regarding use of taxes. I believe that modern Democrats favor returning States’ rights and stricter adherence to the Constitution. Moderate Republicans use tax policy to tilt the table toward business; more radical Republicans tilt the table until it becomes unbalanced; neocons put a funnel at the edge for strictest control (all the while claiming less government intrusion). Democrats come in to right the table and then go overboard—maybe out of necessity, maybe not. But modern Democrats are pro-business capitalists and understand the concept of a thriving economy building the tax base without increasing taxes. Libertarians can teach them many new ways. I believe Democrats will emphasize the rapid growth of small and medium businesses and a return to manufacturing goods and services for EXPORT to bring hard currency in.
I better quit.

Reason: revise wording
I don't see why anyone needs to 'be' any of those things, and once you were one, I wouldn't see any reason to remain one. There may be some broad principles that remain relatively constant in one's thinking, but the bulk of politics is one issue at a time, and there isn't any group that has any upper hand on every issue all the time.
I'd really hate to label myself and go along partylines because I relate that to being a brainwashed sheep that can't think for itself But for the most part, I'd say I have liberal views on social issues and conservative views on financial/economic issues.

So you are brainwashed if you are a member of a political party? People disagree within parties, but they usually agree that problems can be solved in some particular fashion. Ironically you went on to "label" yourself.

Pretty funny how you have selective sight when reading this forum. No, you are not brainwashed if you are a member of a political party. For someone who speaks English, you certainly must have not understood the part where I said I consider GOING ALONG PARTY LINES on issues to be sheep-minded. Just looking for controversy, hmm? Interesting indeed.
GOING ALONG PARTY LINES on issues to be sheep-minded.
If you agree with them there is nothing "sheep-minded" with it at all. That was just my point.
