Personally, I would prefer the death penalty to be "not" legal if those were my only choices, ("illegal" is a poor use of the word). But then I'm a guy and don't have to be concerned about unwanted pregnancy.
and what is a fetus? it's not hte child of the parents? at what magical moment does it become the child? what happens at the magical moment do you say "tee hee! it's not longer a bunch of cells, it's my child!"?
There should be a Constitutional amendment explictly permitting it, up to 12 weeks.
I also support the death penalty, in certain very strictly limited circumstances. For sociopaths, like Ted Bundy.
In his case, I'd pull the switch. Not with any relish. It would haunt my nightmares as long as I lived. But, if I didn't, I'd have worse nightmares over his future victims.
PS: Gov. Rick Perry of TX is a murderer. He presided over the execution of a demonstrably innocent man.
Abortion is completely avoidable, but would involve responsal responsibility, something liberals abhore. Are unwanted pregnancies higher now or than in the 1950s, when there was no birth control?
Abortion just enables irresponsible behavior. Let me ask you, presume you are a woman, would you more or less likely to havea drunken one night stand, no BC used, if you knew you couldn't get an abortion?
What about rape?
What about when a pregnancy endangers the woman's health or her life?
What about when a woman finds out the fetus will be born without a face or a brain?
Abortion should be allowed in these cases.
They should even be allowed when a woman didn't use BC and ended up pregnant as a result.
It seems there is no way to win with the anti-choice crowd.
Many anti-choice websites claim BC is murder.
There have even been "pro-life" groups protesting insurance companies covering birth control.
There are very few people who take abortion lightly. I doubt there are many women out there having unprotected sex and thinking, "Eh...I'll just have an abortion."

(1) You'd get a "grrrl power" I didn't know I was pregnant response..
(2) If you wanted to execute sociopaths, you'd have to execute all of our elected officials

I have zero problem with abortion for the physical health of the mother, rape, less so for birth defects, but my problem is with abortion for birth control purposes. It enables irresponsibility. Only a sociopath would kill their child because they were irresponsible.
