This is comming from the Anti-illegal Alien folk, with a National ID card, all employers will have to swipe your card before you will be able to be hired.

yeah, god forbid if we actually did something that would help americans get their jobs back again.......

allydriver, i don't think too many americans (conservative or liberal) would support microchipping, but that certainly isn't what this is about. i am emphatically NOT on the microchipping bandwagon.

hey, they're already chipping Alzheimer's patients (in case they wander off and get lost), and talking about chipping kids (in case they get kidnapped). Pets have been chipped for years. It's not a new technology. Let's just chip everyone. Back of the hand. Easy, convenient, fast way to transact business with secure ID.

p.s. it's coming!

Voluntary national ID - not involuntary.

Nah, not even voluntary.

I think the moment someone was able walk up to me and ask, "May I see your papers?" is the moment I officially give up hope because at that point their intentions are undeniably clear.

If you think of it from a purely logical POV it makes a lot of sense given the many different methods of identification we use now. Technology and streamlining and efficiency ... but it scares people.

I really don't see the big deal in having an card that states you're an American citizen.

You don't think much into things. Next thing you know we all have bar codes tattooed, or microchips installed at birth. Birth certificate, S.S. card, drivers license or state I.D. is plenty.
Coming to a decade near you... "Democracy Died to Dictatorship".
Ever seen GATTACA. No Thank You.
