The Black church is a very large part of the lives of many Black Americans. They (the church leadership) owe a responsiblity to address the many concerns that affect the community. The fact that many have ignored these epidemics (AIDS/HIV, obesity, sexual responsibility, etc.) is inexcusable.
Exactly, especially since the congregation is attending and donating, it's the least the church can do.
You really can't be serious or maybe you are. Now i'm sure you've gone to black church's. Every first Sunday, we're there all day, so for the full 6 - 8 hours the minister should talk about sex? What about bible study, communion? Church Dinners? Gospel Fest....sex sex sex. In between passing the collection plate (you know they do that at least 3 times) they should include condoms? Come on it still boils down to personal responsibility. I do not want to go to church to listen to a minster talking about sex, hell I could stay home and watch Bobby Jones and switch to MTV inbetween the commercials for that.

The point is, if people are showing up, paying up, and supporting the church, the least they can do is use the power they have to give back and help lift up the community. They have the power to get large amounts of people together, and talk about what we need to do to better and strengthen our community. I know a big part of the effort is the people, but their part comes after we get the word out. If not the church, then who?
So it is safe to say the majority of these Black drugdealers and gangbangers did not grow up in secular households where the mother keeps drilling into their heads that God does not exist.

You got statistics to back up your claim on that less than 1% ? If that were the case than why is the crime and murder rate so high in every predominantly Black city in America if 99.99% of Black Americans are law abiding citizens with absolutely zero connections to criminal activity.

Yes we get it, you hate black people. My question is do you express your hate to those you hate in person or do you behave like a coward and hide in your apartment and rant about these things only online. I'd bet you're another closet racist that can't wait to run home and log on to rant about blacks.
Yeah, but the difference here is one promotes a certain race and the other doesn't. It's not the fault of the "white churches" if no other races show up, it likely has to do with the church being situated in a primarily Caucasian demographic location. Black churches may not keep out other races, but they do promote one.
Bottom line: If I went to one of these black churches, I'd probably get funny stares and a "what's he doing here?" comment or two.
Yeah, but I can say the same thing. I went to a catholic church. I was the only black face. The same thing happened to me. Look at me like I was the maid.
Churches know black folks love love the lord. So, churches saturate the black community. If a church is in a "white" neighborhood -- would you expect to see someone other than white. No, you wouldn't. Or, would you say, where are all the other races. No, you wouldn't.
