Find a Doctor that accepts cash and you've saved even more since they can charge more realistic (lower) prices since they do not have to file mountains of paperwork so they don't need that extra staff just to handle claims.
It's a racket. And if enough people, including doctors, just stand up and say "No more" you'll see the changes you all have been wanting.
But that won't happen any time soon with fear driven apathetic Americans.
Which brings up an interesting idea--'black market health care.' Do you think there will come a time when some doctors may just go 'underground' and offer care for cash only? I know there are doctors right now who only work with cash on the barrel head. They don't accept insurance, medicare, or medicaid. Cash payment for services rendered only. Will that even be legal if this bill is inflicted upon us?

There are doctors today that accept cash. I took my son to one when I had to get him some shots for school and his regular doctor was 6 months backed up with appts and they wouldn't take him because it was not an emergency. I don't think it was unrecorded..just cash payment vs insurance processing. Cash payment is totally legal.
The "cash" doctor was not overbooked, only had 1 nurse and was a much more relaxed atmosphere. Didn't feel like I was part of a cattle call..in and out to get those numbers in.
I have several friends that have went the cash route and just got a name from them. Once you know someone then the network opens up to you
I agree. But, that's not what people who want this bill to pass want. They want health care that they think someone else is going to pay for, hence HC475's line of thinking on display in this thread.
Since when has somebody not paid for your Health Insurance... Would you ever take a job that didn't provide benefits and Health Insurance?
The vast majority of job created is small business. Under this bill tehy will want to keep job numbers down so has not to have to wither pay the mandatory fine or the tax. Many will chnage the way tehy operate IMO and not hire. They will have more tempoary and contract labor.

Cough it up, suckers!
...or they could always just pay the fine, go WITHOUT insurance, and have NO medical care coverage for those random emergencies that crop up unexpectedly... broken bones, rapid onset illness, etc.
That's the dilemna IT workers have... Employers have been using IT staffing companies and contract labor so they won't have to provide Health Insurance to their IT departments... With the National public option there will be more choices.
But, like I said, as an employer that doesn't provide coverage, mandating me to do so does NOT lower my cost
sigh.....
If you have more than 50 employees it shouldn't make a difference.
