Point to me where I said that everyone in our country was broke? I said our country was broke. It appears that your reading comprehension is the one in question, not mine, thankyouverymuch.

Okay, back to my original assertion that even if you taxed all those uberwealthy at 100%, we STILL don't have the money to fund everything on this planet. Get it? There is a limited supply of money, even including the public's wealth. If you feel the need to continue to argue this stupid point, back it up with some statistic.

What on god's green earth are you talking about? Who said anything about anarchy or the wealthy people fleeing this country?

Yeah, every drop of blood is negligible until those drops start adding up to pints, right?

And there you have it folks. Someone who wants income redistribution. A little envious of those who have more than you, are we? There's a term for that... class warfare. God Forbid anyone work hard and amass any amount of wealth.

The babies get the SS card. If they are born here they are legal even if the parents aren't. As citizens the babies are entitle to the social programs the US has to offer. Totally legal according to our laws.

H
from the government:
In 2008, over 50 million Americans will receive nearly $614 billion in Social Security benefits.
The total cost of all federal assistance programs -- including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and various welfare programs -- ACCOUNTS FOR NEARLY ONE HALF OF ALL MONEY SPENT BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. That is a doubling of the percentage that obtained it in the 1960s.

you can be sure that number has gone up since 2008.

Report: One-fourth of welfare payments go to illegals

From wire service reports
Posted: 03/10/2010 07:08:55 AM PST

Nearly one-quarter of state welfare payments and food stamps issued in Los Angeles County go to children whose parents are in the U.S. illegally, according to January figures released today. Supervisor Mike Antonovich offered the statistics, generated by the county's Department of Public Social Services, to help make the case for enforcing the nation's borders, establishing health care clinics on the border with Mexico and reimbursing local governments for unfunded state and federal mandates, according to his press deputy, Tony Bell.

I hate nothing more than the bleeding hearts that refuse to educate themselves on the cost of illegal immigration to this country. Schools, neighborhoods, social services, loss of tax revenue, lower wages and on and on and on.

Most illegals do not pay taxes because they work for cash, claim so many dependents they are exempt while their families collect welfare. It's very easy to do since you cannot trace an illegal and no authorities respect our laws. As we just saw the IRS will send their tugs to collect 4 cents from acitizen but you will never hear of the IRS going after an illegal immigrant worker.

AMERICAN workers spend their money in our economy yet a huge amount of money is sent back home with illegal immigrants. Billions, NOT injected into our economy.

Among the countries that receive the most in remittances are Mexico, the Philippines and India. Last year Mexico received more than $17 billion in remittances. The amount of remittances in Mexico exceeds the amount of foreign direct investment in the country. This is not surprising given that a significant portion of Hispanics in the United States are of Mexican descent. Other Latin American countries like El Salvador are popular destinations for remittances. In 2005 approximately $2.5 billion was sent to El Salvador. The amount represented more than 13% of El Salvador’s GDP, or gross domestic product. It is estimated that Latin Americans residing in the United States send $30 billion dollars to their native countries.

Sure illegal immigrants are just people but they are not just people we should have to support with our tax dollars.

And we can be sure none of that money goes to help out their parents, yup, yup.

(sindey just qualified for Dunce of the Year!)

BTW, remind me again, what country's welfare payments (if any) would those children be collecting if their parents HADN'T deliberately, grossly and continuously violated U.S. immigration laws?

The OP was correct. If the illegal aliens hadn't violated our laws, the welfare burden they have saddled us with, would be 23% lower.

It's more than just the welfare burden.
There's a burden on the schools.
There's a burden on the medical industry.
There's a burden on the cities/states for housing/transportation/services.
And the burden to translate and have available bilingual support services.

I see it's still going on.
...that's why we have nothing to worry about concerning social security...there are plenty of babies coming behind to make up for the cost of the boomers, right? Don't listen to me...I am a "socialist". (And you are not so you won't be using social security on principle.)
