Bomb sniffing dogs + metal detectors + questions/body language analysis of suspicious looking individuals = More effective less politically correct (not to mention less cancer-ridden) TSA.
Budget for 2012, $8.1 Billion and they can't hire someone who can read a ticket in NYC.
Min requirements..GED and ability to wave a metal detector wand..same caliber of people that would apply to Wallymart or McDonalds.
Didn't say anything about reading ability.
Why does the government pay for security for private airlines again? They don't put security guards in the local Walmart; other businesses must provide their own on-site security. What makes airlines an exception?
That's not even touching the egregious, blatant infringement of the Fourth Amendment.
