Same thing happened in Missouri.

WHAT is the source of skyrocketing cost to buy medical care?
The monetization/corporatization of health care. Or perhaps I could try to sum it up in one word: greed.

This goes right along with my first statement. Should I really think it's a coincidence that the explosion in health care costs roughly coincides with a shift from or dying out of "private charity hospitals" to more monied interests (shareholders) with profit in mind?

What evidence do you have that would make anyone believe that "any physician" (or insurance company, or hospital, etc) would not take a majority or entirety of that money and pocket it? Besides, what makes a physician so special that he deserves to have zero income tax?

To me, the central issue of health care is that our current system financially incentivizes management of symptoms over curing of diseases. There's not nearly as much money to be had in fixing problems than there is in masking the symptoms of said problem for the rest of your life through medications and scans and regular doctor visits, etc.

An anecdote to this whole discussion: when my wife was in the hospital, we were billed $125 for when they gave her 2 Tylenol. Our insurance company paid without question. Which part of that equation should I be happy about, and why shouldn't I take this example as part and parcel of what is problematic about our current health care system?

Ugh, what is wrong with people. So tired of the GOP's holy rollers. And then Beck says he is "libertarian"..nope, more like a theocrat. Keep the religion stuff in church.

When Beck and this congressman declare the Super Bowl and other sporting events played on Sunday as affronts to God, particularly given all of the gambling that goes along with them, I might take them seriously.

Until then, neither of them has a toe to stand on.

what they should have said is that the health care bill is an affront to american citizens.

i don't see that voting option.

if you object to this health care legislation:
Dial: 877-762-8762 or 202-224-3121 or 202-225-3121
• Focus: Wilson (D-OH) | Cao (R-LA) | Altmire (D-PA)

flood the lines and send your emails now! i would like to add that the phone lines must be totally flooded, because they have disconnected the last 2 numbers and the first number is busy all the time.

Thanks for more info about the christian god...he gives out diseases and will be angry if the afflicted can afford to get treatment without going bankrupt. Some god!
Just another good reason to be an atheist.
