i disagree that if the president was white there would not be a tea party. the bailouts started the "awakening", not the fact that the new president was black.(or mixed, to be technical) the fact that he is continuing down the same road as bush when he promised change is what is causing the backlash.
people should be marching for a lot of reasons, including those given. the government is clearly setting up to monitor the people closely when the SHTF. i would think that would raise concerns among many americans.

you actually have an interesting perspective because you are overseas and can see things differently, and probably get different media sources as well.

i said before we should do what iceland did, which is park our butts on their lawns at home and make them notice us. they have their little washington bubble where they feel safe and maybe they need to SEE US.

Thats true but as of now Iran is helping the Taliban because they want to weaken the U.S. because their country could get attacked from either the U.S. or Israel if things succeed in Afghanistan, but on the other hand they would never want to see Taliban return to power because this would pose a threat to the Iranian government.
