If the bill was passed to provide relief to those without health insurance, why wouldn't one question why the delay in providing what is an important provision of the bill? If they had to delay such an important part, one could question if the bill was being properly funded and wasn't well thought out before being implemented. After all, it was constantly reinforced by Obama that this was a crisis and time was of "the essence". So why the 4 year wait then?
It doesn't kick in until after the 2012 election. That is a factor.

Unfortunately, I have countless friends who were born with hemophilia and received tainted blood product during the early-to-mid 1980's and were infected with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B and C. Sadly, many of those people can't refute this misunderstanding because they're dead.

Why do I feel the need to correct this? Not because I don't disaprove of those who attained HIV with risky behaviors but that this type of apathy and misunderstanding lead the Reagan Administration to take a lax approach to both the AIDS and Hep-C epidemic of the 1980's and undoubtedly added to the number of innocents that contracted it.
I didn't mean to be offensive because we do know that none of the things I said weren't involved in the spread of the disease. Of course, all the things you stated are true but they certainly weren't the only reasons but went along what I said. I don't know how many of your people actually got it from using the same paraphenalia as those who already had it but I do know that that was involved.

Today my wife keeps telling me about teenage girls saying that there was just no proof that any kind of free sexual behavior that spreads sexual diseases. Are those kids more likely to catch something with thinking like that? I sure do think so, but maybe they can blame the drinking water when they do contact one of those diseases.

In case you haven't seen it, here is a projected implementation timeline. Some benefits will be seen right away. Others are going to take more time. Factbox: Healthcare bill would provide immediate benefits | Reuters

THank you, I've seen it. It is disappointing that the funding of this bill was so lax that many of the provisions will take so long to enact. Many people who were waiting years to gain access to the system will still be waiting.

When a bill gets passed, it should be the best bill to address the problem, not a handout to the lobbyists.

They are wrong in that adults have to wait until 2014 in order to be protected against being denied health insurance due to a pre-existing condition.

Children receive protection immediately.

You do realize that you can HIV or AIDS from more than just sexual intercourse. I learned that in health class in high school. I assume everyone did. Maybe not.
