The Republicans did not cause the problem, but I am glad someone is looking out for the interest of this generation. You certainly cannot say that the democrats are doing anything to uphold the promises made to this generation.

To be fair one conservative talking point basically relies on living in a fantasy land where France is a third world country.

They didn't say it would turn us into a third world nation. They said it was the "first step" in turning the US into a third world nation. I agree.

The most ironic part is that now the right is using Medicare as leverage in their argument against national health care. They didn't want it in the first place but now it's THEIR talking point. What a crock. They didn't mind when Reagan took the knife to Medicare (his lifelong dream). It illustrates exactly how dishonest their opposition to this issue is.
What? Seems to be coming true afterall. It has just been delayed but the Dems are determined to do it.

It's their talking point because it is an example of what happens when government oversteps its authority. SS, Medicare and Medicaid are all broke and huge unfunded liabilities going forward. Their is no solution for their insolvency so the Democrats have decided to create another unsustainable program hoping to siphon off more of the money we all need to live. Of course, like SS, the revenue raised for the new program will also be embezzled and a Congressional IOU left behind while that money is used to buy more votes. It's no accident that the revenue is raised right away but the benefits don't start for four years. That gives Congress a brand new election slush fund to use for the next four years.

I have no really strong position on the merits of this bill itself; I'm not an economist and don't feel qualified to speak on all its possible ramifications. But may I ask you two teeny little questions?

1. How many "third world countries" have national health care?
2. How many 'first world' countries do not have national health care?

Just asking you to clarify your terminology a little.

Some of the "Yes, we can" Congress people will be thinking of the day on November 3 when they will have all the time in the world to reflect as they clean out their office.

I think the history books will reflect this as a flashpoint for where America declined...and he isn't finished yet.

Is it 2012 yet? I already read an article this morning about how the Democrats could lose really big in 2012. They likened it to the 40 years after Lyndon Johnson and I wasn't even reading a conservative column.

So congratulations to those who voted yes. You just destroyed our democracy. I would hate to be in your shoes when you realize what you have done. We tried to get you not to do it.
Tomorrow the world will end...Drama is your middle name, country girl (that says it all).

Go tell that to the greedy corporations. Give the horse back its blinders.

When I was in school our teachers told us how FDR saved our country. I have been out long enough to realize that it was all just propaganda and the democratics are the biggest enemies this country has. I will never vote for another democrat. Democrat is just another word for communism in America.
Anyone that says Duh, more than once in a sentence or a long post, deserves to be clubbed a few times. DUH!!!

Yep, none of that compares to health care that actually supports citizens.

what, no comment on the cost of the wars we are fighting in afghanistan, pakistan, and yemen? they are expensive also! obama asked for more money to fight those wars (in addition to the ongoing iraq war).....

doesn't that fit the liberal agenda?

again, it is mandatory health care INSURANCE, not health care, brought to you by big business and government collusion-just like the wars.
