Are you serious? Medicaid already exists. The American people are already paying for the healthcare of some poor people. We also get to pay for the healthcare of people who choose not to buy insurance, and just go to the emergency room when they get sick or injured. How is that fair?
My question now is ..Why change the system if we were paying for the poor already then?.....now the money is still going to us/poor people but only in a different way, and with lots more tax increases and we dont get the full benefits for what our taxes are going towards for another 4 years....so why change the system?...If they were going to change the system and actually cared then they would have never mentioned abortion being part of the bill, and they would have improved the service in VA hospitals for the former soldiers who get crappy treatment all the time, but now we have a plan which is disguised to make things fair for everyone but really it is just a bunch of new taxes, and we will be on waiting lists for longer when we need that life changing surgery, and instead of a surgery for heart problems you will be told what your insurance can allow coverage for and receive some pills instead...look to Europe and you will see where our system is going now
The bill isn't perfect but, insurance companys ALREADY decide what treatments They will allow.
I have been a victim of 'the pre-existing condition clause' insurance companys have & had to cancel a surgery until it was DECIDED. I finally was allowed to have it with many threats of lawsuits.
I will gladly pay more in taxes if it will help save 1 single life.
It is not fair. You get to pay for people who are addicts and not just people with unavoidable medical conditions.
Correct. We don't get to pick and choose on an individual basis after an extensive background check and personal interviews. Darn it, that would be so fun. And efficient too.

The government health plan could easily exclude drug addicts and alcoholics if they chose to do so.
