This bill was ill-conceived, and its almost 3,000 pages, which does include all the pages that will be written to other existing legislation. I'm sure more crap will pop up all over that people do not like, its what happens when the cry go out "Well, we need to do something!"
Republicans wanted to just deal with the issues, one at a time, like eliminating preexisting conditions and implement cost saving controls and regulations, but some people wanted this huge bloated monster of a bill.
There are several things to be mad about in the bill, this ID non issue, is certainly not one of them. When grasping at anything to gripe about, choose something that merits griping.
The funny thing is....you still haven't provided any sort of proof. So as of now, save the "SHRIIIEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!" for something else. Thanks.
You are positive proof that an IQ test should be administered before being qualified to vote.
That's right ... if ever there was a constitutional amendment needed to this wonderful document ... the right to vote should be reserved for those that can demonstrate the ability to think.
In fairness to the founding fathers, I don't think anyone of that day could have reasonably anticipated the depths of stupidity to which the population has devolved.
Selective service registration is mandatory for all men in this country. Last time I checked, they required fingerprints. Not sure these days, but Damn, talk about an I.D. card. I suppose that is gathered up for Uncle Sam's Big Brother.
No, liberals only had a problem with a national ID when it was proposed under the Bush administration. Now that Democrats are in office, they don't have any problem with it at all. They're willing to give up their freedom and liberty only when Democrats are in office. Republicans ask the same thing and they're all anger yelling "FACIST!"
Yes, and this is what we get through collective ignorance, and the spineless compliance to absurd treatment:
This abuse is designed to condition the public to accept the unacceptable. I've had some encounters with these numbskull TSA thugs .... little people with even smaller intellects enjoying this power trip they have over the general public. These clowns are the epitome of low level government parasites that wouldn't last a day in private industry.
As a government technology contractor in Washington DC for over 15 years (82-97') the mentality of these people can range from the laziest persons you've ever met to the most dishonest, worthless parasite, living of the government gravy train. Not all, mind you ... I worked with some very sharp government people, but most were all associated with space (NASA) and defense ... not with some of the other non-critical agencies.
We've managed to survive as a country for over 200 years WITHOUT TSA and Homeland Security, and we'd be better off living without them today.
The one thing you can count on is ... whatever indignity the public is willing to accept, there will be more coming until we collectively say stop!
In fairness to the founding fathers, I don't think anyone of that day could have reasonably anticipated the depths of stupidity to which the population has devolved.
And they would have never envisioned being tossed out of history books either. So, you're right... the population has devolved.
This is insurance industry reform coupled with a mandate to have health insurance, not a scary "government takeover".
God forbid the government expect us to try to be responsible for ourselves.
That IS the problem
Where does the Constitution give the Federal Government authority to require me to buy a good or service from ANY private company?
