It's disappointing that so many of you are hoping for violence.
I think they're begging for violence, trying to encourage any lunatic or lunatics they can find! Geeeezzzz, throwing bricks through office windows, cutting some guy's propane gas line, screaming "baby killer"......common sense tells ANYBODY that there's a problem here with "sore losers". The past week was horrendous, and continues into this week.
"If we were living in another country, what we, all of us together, would go down to Washington and stone Henry Hyde to death, stone him to death, stone him to death!" said Baldwin. "Then we would go to their house and we'd kill the family, kill the children."
I'm not hoping for violence, but hoping that they now live with anxiety while holding their seat because of their disregard (on the most part) to what their constituents wanted.
If they're like me, they'll be much more likely to support liberal policies more strongly in defiance of the behavior of these people. Their hearts will be hardened against tea partiers and they will lose any sympathy they have for their views.
This bill was probably the best thing to ever happen to the big insurance companies, as people will be forced to buy insurance, but there's no controls on the price.
No, we did not (I'm pretty far to the left, and am disappointed in the bill for reasons that would probably make your head explode), but the thought of threatening violence never once occurred to me, just as threatening violence against those who supported the economic and political policies of Bush or Reagan also never occurred to me, despite being virulently opposed to them. We are a nation of laws, and a democratic country, if we condone violence and threats of violence to exercise our political will over the rule of law, then we are lessor for it.
A nation of laws ? Somebody tell this to the clintons, bushes and obamas, too late to tell reagans . Most of our leaders do whatever they please for past 50 years now . Most are also criminals themselves .
A nation of sheep will be ruled by a government of wolves . [ forgot who said it ]
Oh? And I suppose it's supporters of the bill attacking Democratic offices and sending death threats?
Who is attacking Democrats? All you have is one leftist whacko politician who is noted for lying through his teeth making a claim that he cannot support. It would not be unprecedented for Democrats to attack other Democrats and then try to claim it was Republicans. Like the liberal freak who broke windows of the Democrat Party offices in Denver last August.
Lets put it this way when you have such a blantant disregard for the American people, you are going to have a backlash, and it has been a long time comin.
It was VERY CLEAR that most Americans DID NOT WANT THIS BILL, and they rammed it down our throats, anyway.
You nailed it... it's blatant disregard.
