Because you know of your reputation and that you need to do something about it?

I saw a video of one of those tea bag conventions and there was not a single minority person in the audience as they panned the cam across it. Mostly older white guys.

Oh, you were watching Glenn Beck. That explains your ridiculous 21% approval rating assertion..

Back when Bush's approval rating was roughly half of Obama's current rating, shouldn't we have seen twice as much talk about the end of the republic, the "blood of tyrants," and disturbing acceptance of violence against politicians and even civilians?

What is it about the more passionate people out of the 49% that disapprove of Obama versus the passionate out of the 73% that disapproved of Bush that is tearing things apart so much and making things so disturbing?
Maybe it has to do with the levels of education and sophistication of the people opposing Bush and Obama respectively.

Contrast this to Obama who has strong armed and bribed a fantastically unpopular program. And a program that's going to hang around the neck of every dem for years to come. Each and every time an American comes face to face with a new socialist healthcare system -- or the IRS fines from avoidance, it will be tied to the dems. A gift that keeps on giving. It will slowly destroy the party.
The ONLY reason the conservative idea laden health reform bill had no republican support is because they felt it politically sound to attempt to derail Obama's entire agenda. The republicans failed horribly and will have to face the consequences of an even stronger Obama and Dem congress. This is what happens when you put politics in front of people..

Because those on the right are not civilized and pose a real threat to both our President and this society. Liberals, the ones opposed to Bush, are civilized and not given to violence.

Have you been living under a rock? There were plenty of threats of violence during the Bush administration.

Enjoy the 15 minutes. This will be the high water mark of the Obama administration. He was able to beg, bribe and strong arm a bill but it will be disastrous; an order of magnitude worse than the quickly eroded support and belief in the "stimulus" package.

If you are being sarcastic you're doing a bang up job.

I see you did not include what was actually said in the article.

The passage of healthcare reform in the House, a major victory for the Obama administration, has not yet had an overwhelmingly positive impact on Obama's approval rating. That may be in part because of the divisiveness over the healthcare reform legislation, which struggled to gain majority public support throughout the process. It appears, though, that the healthcare victory did provide enough momentum to put Obama back above the majority approval level for the time being.

we will see how people like this legislation when the states push for its unconstitutionality in the courts.

Yeah, of course there were. The difference is that the Tea Partiers started with it right away and managed to not only match but exceed the number of threats in a single year. It took two national disasters, two botched wars (one unjust), the destruction of American reputation, and warrantless surveilance to bring about the level of outrage against Bush, whereas the campaign to create a perpetual state of anger and fear about Obama began before he was even elected.
