The writer of that article is an idiot. He/she is trying to draw a hamfisted analogy between satellite dishes and health insurance. The incommensurability of these two services completely destroys the entire argument. The ultimate conclusion is "The State cannot give you anything worth having". What this elides is that the flip side of the argument is that private business and the profit motive can.

Its so easy to work up Cons into a foaming mess.

Obamacare is very similar to Romneycare which was supported by the Heritage Foundation.

Additionally, the mandate has Republican roots. It is what Republicans proposed and supported back during the Clinton administration.

This health care reform is very "Republican", but Cons hate it because it has Democratic effort written all over it.
