Risk for GOP comes from extreme fringe

By Julian E. Zelizer, Special to CNN

Princeton, New Jersey (CNN) -- As he stood before the delegates of the 1964 Republican Convention in San Francisco, California, Arizona Sen. Barry Goldwater, the party's presidential nominee, said, "I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue."

It won't be taken to anyones heart, the only thing people do when extremism doesn't work is to become more extreme.

I wouldn't take anything any liberals say about what is the threat to the Republicans. Any Republican I knew who left the Republican party, left because of RINOs. If a Republican is going to act like a Democrat, you might as well vote for a Democrat. Conservatives know it is liberalism that is destroying the country and our society.
