In case you're interested, they are:

Take note that the hearing was not held en banc, that is before the whole court, but most cases aren't. In fact, the 3 judge panels which hear most cases are arbitrarily assigned by computer, at least in the 4th Circuit. For a case to be decided, at least 2 of the 3 Judges must concur. I do not know if this case was unanimous, but it's immaterial anyhow.

You may go and picket their homes if you like, but you probably should be prepared to be arrested for harrassment, if not stalking a Federal Judge. In any case, you'd just be wasting your time because it's not even possible for a picketed Judge to say, "Oh my gosh! There are people on my lawn so we'd better re-open that case." The law doesn't work that way.

And, by the way, while researching further, I found how it is that Snyder has to pay the costs of the defendents appeal. It's found in the 4th Circuit rules:

Rule 39. Costs

(a) Against Whom Assessed. The following rules apply unless the law provides or the court orders otherwise:

(3) if a judgment is reversed, costs are taxed against the appellee;

The judgment of the lower court WAS reversed, so the appellee (in this case, Snyder) has to pay. It wasn't done as an act of retribution, nor does it make a political statement. It's just the rules of the Court which are applied in any case.

Here is the .pdf of the appeal
Albert Snyder vs. Fred W. Phelps Sr.

He flew around on his Gulfstream on your dime.

I'd be upset too, but then again, I'm much too smart to give to a charity ran by that chickenhawk loudmouth coward.

Why do you keep taking threads off topic with this question?

It's not taking the thread off topic. I'm just curious.

In any case, it's only the second time I've asked it and the first time, the thread was closed shortly thereafter and I wasn't sure if you'd seen it.

If you don't want to answer, that's fine.

You having problems with your thought processes today? What does my previous post have to do with this one? This is not a right versus left issue. Only a fool would attempt to make it one. Got it?

What makes those men, women and children line up along a roadside to taunt mourners? What could be going on in their minds?
I've always wondered the same thing about the Nazi soldiers as they gunned down innocent people and tossed them into ditches. How does a person justify this kind of behavior?
Anyway, O'Reilly is paying the family's court costs, the Supreme Court will probably take the appeal, and hopefully the ever so devout Westboro folks will get what's coming to them in more ways than one.

You need to remember that the OP is crazy. Anyone who doesn't agree with him is all lumped into the same group. Hence, Republicans are equal to Nazis and opposing Obamacare is the same as supporting Westbro.
