"Literally, if we took away the minimum wage—if conceivably it was gone—we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level." —Michele Bachmann
Wouldn't it be nice if we, when filling out our 1040 form, set the salary for Congress for the coming year, and set the "performance" Bonus for the previous year. That would be interesting.
Let's wait for you to tell us exactly what percentage of the economy the government owns...since you seem to question the op as if they are incorrect in their assertion.
We'll wait...
Is this Michele Bachmann or just someone that obviously agrees with her unfounded "facts"? I did not write the article, but I'll back up the person that did. In fact, I'd back up almost anyone that was not Bachmann. The woman is a raving lunatic. I'll leave the burden of proof with you as to the accuracy of Bachmann's rantings since you are the one defending the nut case.

Sonny, you have a little comprehension problem this morning???
Go back and SLOWLY re-read my post and WHO I was referring to, context help's you alot!!
Tell you what, don't hurt yourself I'll explain it to you:
Momonkey suggested that the op was wrong for calling into question Michelle Bachman's assertion that 51% of the economy was controlled by the government.
Quote:
Since you've concluded that the 51% number was incorrect, what percentage of the economy does government own or control?
I'll wait...
I then invited him to give the exact percentage of the economy is controlled by the government.

So exactly where am I defending Bahman as you stated:

Not how it works. The OP took contest to a claim made, using a source that specifically states it is false, made up, LARGELY wrong.
Now I personally have no idea what the percentage is, but then I am neither supporting that who is claiming such in the article or contesting the claim. If I was contesting the claim, I would provide evidence as to why it is wrong.
Now I might say "I do not believe this to be true" and ask for some evidence, but if none is provided, then ALL claims are simply guesses.
So... since the OP directly contested the claim, I would be interested how she comes to this conclusion. For if it is not based on any fact, it appears the OP is then simply talking our of her arse and pushing political bias just as she is accusing the person making the claim of.
So do you not think it important that the OP provide some sort of support for her objection or is talking out of our arse the standard here?
Wow. If this is what's facing the nation, I am very worried. It's long been known that numbers can be carefully manipulated to misrepresent the facts. But why bother doing that when you can just make them up out of thin air?
Well, yesterday Michele Bachmann was offering up a lot of very big numbers. And by "offering up" I mean "making up." And by "big" I mean "fabricated." Here's just one of Michelle's statistical fantasies: "Now we have the federal government taking over ownership or control of 51 percent of the American economy. This is stunning. Prior to September of 2008, 100 percent of the private economy was private." OK. I think Michele Bachmann's goal is to make the rest of us as confused as she is. On their website, CBS felt obliged to say "Ms. Bachmann offered no facts to back up her assertion that the government owns or controls 51 percent of the U.S. economy." That would because the numbers have nothing to do with the facts. Michele's numbers need an asterisk beside them. And if you look up the note with the asterisk it will say "numbers based on whatever was flitting around inside Michele Bachmann's skull."

So you start a thread attacking her and what she said but you fail to offer up any numbers of your own to prove your arguement. Here in post #2 you resort to name calling.
Still waiting for something of substance rather than the rants of leftist lunacy attacting the messenger.

Sorry but I also use common sense and my own intelligence, and knowledge based on what I read and know.
If a talking head made a statement that, "giant Martions just landed on earth and Pres. Obama just dropped a nuclear bomb on them"! I'm probably going to say I don't believe it and prove it. Why?...because in the face of common sense and based on what we know about life on Mars, the statement is impossible untill proved otherwise.
Now a woman known for her antics, spin, distortions, and prejudices tells me that all of a sudden President Obama, (whom she detests) has taken control of 51% of all the private businesses in this country!
Again based on common sense, I'm going to say I don't believe it ,prove it!
