Good thing I'm one of those cwazy libertarian Republicans who doesn't care what a politician does in their spare time, as long as it doesn't involve taxpayer money. So, yes, Mark Sanford was wrong.
The Republicans tend to hide what the Democrats brag about.
Republicans also tend to kick their screw-ups to the curb. If you can't keep it in your pants, don't join the Republican Party because you'll have a real short career.

I just found it amusing. I don't hold either Party morally superior to the other. Politically, I know what the Democrats are trying to do and I know what the Republicans are trying to do, it's really quite simple.
