We have not fully emerged, it will take several years to recover. That we are emerging, is in large part, Obama's doing and is deserving of the credit for that. Could he have done more? Probably. There are many that think the Stimulus was too small or too slow coming out, there is still a good bit yet to be spent. Keep in mind, what has been accomplished thus far has been done in spite of virtual complete opposition to anything, on the part of the GOP.

Blame Clinton?

Clinton had a good economy.

Clinton sold our submarine and Loral rocket secrets to the Dinks

Clinton instituted NAFTA

You tell me- good or bad?

A little revisionist history again?

George H W Bush, negotiated NAFTA. He tried to fast track it into law, but ran out of time, then Clinton signed the agreement.

While the Reps are first to complain, I am yet to see anything positive coming from their administration. Needless wars, needless expenditures, policies that encouraged the bad economy, poor follow up leading to 9/11, big government, massive deficits, disregard for the Constitution, plans that make the upper 1% filthy rich,...

So tell me again why you would support their party? Do you really think people will forget what they have brought upon our economy?

Says the Texan. Do you realize how out of touch Texas is with the rest of the country? I remember reading Chron.com comments before Obama got elected. It seemed as though a great majority of Texans truly believed McCain/Palin was going to win. The rest of the country knew better.

All I have heard from my fellow residents is "The economy is going to tank" even though my 401k has grown in leaps and bounds. "Obama is going to be below 40 percent popularity by March. He isn't. Meanwhile, the rest of the country is laughing at us thanks to our new curriculum standards in Texas.

It seems to me what Texans don't understand is independent voters that are unhappy with Obama aren't exactly clamoring for Republicans to save the day. I suspect in November Texans will continue to scratch their heads at the results.

well do you live in Texas or UK? If you live in UK, you may not have much knowledge to what is really happening here in our country..if you live in Houston, you must be hiding somewhere cause, because Nov isn't all that far away...Things would have to improve a heck of a lot for the Republicans not to make serious gains in 7 months.

We know of 3 independants, 2 voted for Obama, all 3 are pulling for the Republicans to do whatever they have to do just to get the Democrats out of Washington.

Getting no results has consequences and democrats are once again going to get to see that lesson.

Actually, Chicago. And seeing you are so afraid of an outsider's perspective you obviously are a native Texan.
