2 1/2 Years and $250,000 fine!

<snip>
WASHINGTON (AP) - Former White House aide I. Lewis ``Scooter'' Libby's hopes of avoiding prison in the CIA leak case began to dim Tuesday as a federal judge ruled he could face a longer sentence because the investigation he obstructed was so serious.

Libby, the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, is the highest-ranking official convicted of a crime since the Iran Contra affair

This man leaked the identity of an active secrete agent. That is nearly an act of treason or, at least accessory to potential murder, and deserves far more than a fine and a short prison term. The act is simply despicable.

He will keep the case under appeal for a few years until Bush gets around to giving him Amnesty. (earned legalization)

Yeah, I thought about that.
Wouldn't that be somewhat of an admission of guilt, though?

You’re right about that, but then how can George Bush give him a pardon when George said he wanted the person who leaked to be out of his office and held accountable? I thought I remember George saying something like that before? But then George says so many things that never come about or seems to be untruthful, doesn’t he?

you might want to check your facts greg. he was not convicted of leaking plame, and if plame was really undercover and her cover was blown her husband should be in jail. If Bush had any nuts he would pardon him immediatly & expose this sham for what it is, a witch hunt worth millions of dollars for a bogus crime that came up empty and embarrased and dicredited the prosecuter! Sound familiar, Libby is payback for dna on a blue dress!
