GOPers are most likely to watch the PGA Tour, college football and NASCAR, according to the study. Meanwhile, Dems hold the largest advantages among basketball fans, both those who watch the NBA and the WNBA. And fans of World Wrestling Entertainment are also much more likely to favor Dems -- if they vote. Wrestling fans are less likely to cast ballots than any other sports fans.

For this Democrat,

College basketball, not professional.

Professional football, not college.

Hockey at all levels.

Golf ... watching golf? I don't get it.

NASCAR? No thanks.

Baseball, playoffs only (season is way too long)

Wrestling? Absolutely. And accurately labeled as entertainment.

And the relationship between what sports you watch and how likely you are to vote is nebulous at best. This Democrat always votes.

Registered Dem (don't always vote that way):

Football, gymnastics, ice skating.

Did they poll any women? It doesn't say.

I usually vote Democrat and I'm a big sports fan.. Giants, 49ers, Sharks, Arsenal..

Of course, we know NASCAR is a redneck sport so I leave that alone..and golf is an elitist sport so I'm not a big fan of that either. I prefer team sports anyway..

And where's the EPL? I like the MLS (Sounders) but it's still minor league..

Mostly Dem here, with a few GOP tendencies;

I prefer hockey, PRO football ( although this has declined over the past 20 years), and I attend 3-4 baseball games/year ( usually in Chicago, and not Boston, ironically); the NBA is OK, but not a "must-see" at all;

I have NO interest in golf, NASCAR , or college football. I've also watched only about 10 minutes of the NCAA tournament thus far.

Democrat here...

I'm a huge college basketball and football fan (DI and DII)! Hate the NBA.
Live in Minny so college hockey is on my radar but not all that important. Go SCSU Huskies! Hate the NHL.
I follow the EPL but I'm not a soccer nut.
The Minnesota Vikings and Twins are life!!
I've never watched more than two laps of NASCAR.

For this right-of-center independent, baseball is my favorite sport by far, followed by football. I don't care about any others....

I'm center left, and I watch 3-day eventing... and since I grew up in a big baseball family I watch a bit of that too. I also love Air Races
My boyfriend is also center left and he watches Tennis (he works in that industry) and rally.
Definitely no NASCAR, no basketball, no football and absolutely no 'wrestling'.

Nita

Republican here as most know: hubby: football, both college and pro but college is number 1. Second, baseball, always has been a huge fan and 3rd Horse racing::Me: I am just a plain sports fan period: I love the same sports he does, of course things like Gymastics, swimming, ice skating are awesome to watch during the Olympics, but I don't think of them as main stream sports.
