At 63 he has EARNED enough life experience to be entitled to his opinions, which is more than many of the posters who flippantly dismiss his perspective.

Why is his lazy daughter not paying him rent for that 2nd condo? If he would have his lazy daughter get off of her @ss then maybe he could rent out the 2nd condo and pull in extra income.

Why did this man not point out that it was under the lax regulation under GWB that created the "devil-may-care" environment in the financial industry? Guess it didn't fit to nicely into his "tirade".

Why does this man speak from false anecdotal information regarding "lower graduation standards" for minorities? No institution of higher learning will admit a student that they believe can not do the work and graduate. There is no affirmative action for graduating minority students. Lies.

Why doesn't this old man come clean about how he has made mistakes in his own life and that is the reason why he is tired. Maybe if he spent more time educating himself and less time trying to hold Bush and Palin up as some sort of icons of patriotism then he would be "too blessed to be stressed".
YES! Great post!!!!

At 63, he should have made better life choices (worked smarter, invested better, gotten more education) and then he wouldn't be worried about the minutia of American life.

This letter reeks of the entitlement syndrome that so many have from his generation.

Made better choices? The guy owns two condos, at least one of which is paid for. I'm pretty sure your advice is not needed.

Obviously it is or he wouldn't have written the letter.

He is complaining about his sorry life which was brought about by his sorry choices. I wonder how much money this guy wasted on a Winnebago or cheap beer.

I feel sorry for his granddaughter. She will never learn how to make money, succeed in the workplace, start her own business or to invest wisely from her grandpa. He's to busy whining over irrelevant politicians (Bush and Palin) and phantom affirmative action slights to teach her any real life lessons. Unfortunately, this is a mental trap of many of his ilk.

And to top it off, he also views himself as some sort of "sage" imparting his "wisdom" to the huddled masses. Tragic.
