So much for that narrative from the Left and their lap-dog press.

Tea Partiers Are Fairly Mainstream in Their Demographics

Quote:
PRINCETON, NJ -- Tea Party supporters skew right politically; but demographically, they are generally representative of the public at large.
Amazing how the demographics of the Tea Party and national adults jive.

Quote:
In several other respects, however -- their age, educational background, employment status, and race -- Tea Partiers are quite representative of the public at large.

I think of Mainstream America, as a whole, as sort of apolitical.

Their views sure aren't mainstream, unless you consider far right extremism to be mainstream.

Your title line is trying to make it sound like the Tea Party ideology is mainstream and the poll is only asking things like age, income, education, etc. (Yes, I know you did mention that in your text.) Furthermore, the poll doesn't sample very many Tea Party members. It polled 1,033 people or which only 28% supported the Tea Party. So basically you'd have to believe that under 300 tea baggers are representative of ALL tea baggers.

Tea Party is extremist, but not for those reasons. Nothing is extermist about lower taxes, lower spending and lower deficits. It's their other views that are far wacky.

Oh, you mean lower taxes, stopping deficit spending, stop increasing the debt, smaller government, doing away with new multi-trillion dollar entitlements we can't pay for...that kind of extremism?

Where does your "proof" say what your title says.....????

Answer: Nowhere.

See, there's a difference between """Tea Partiers are fairly Mainstream in Their DEMOGRAPHICS"""

and "The Tea party IS Mainstream America"....

one in a long list of "misleading" titles.

I Heard on talk radio that the Tea Party was polled as a mixture of Republicans, Democrats and Independents. no mention of Liberals...lol...maybe that's why they are so crazy mad. nobody wants them around. lol..oh well.
