Agreed, however the title of the OP doesn't so much take issue with their views as the fact that they are protesting, I mean that's the title. It implies that the problem the OP has is with the fact that they are protesting, at leat that is the way it is framed.
What we do know is that there is a long history of Southern racists falsely accusing black men of rape or being interested in white women, and sometimes either imprisoning or killing them for it.
This grim history counsels a degree of caution under these circumstances.
