I was initially horrified at what happened because the first video I saw was of several unarmed men gathered at a wall. But then I saw the extended version and you can very clearly see that at least one of the men is carrying an RPG and several minutes later he is seen crouching at the corner and it looks as though he is aiming at the helicopter.
These journalists were foolish for hanging with insurgents.
Yes, it does look like a shadow. The post could be a cross-post like they use for electrical wires or lighting.
Only one problem; When he turns in profile, with the weapon, you can clearly see it IS indeed a weapon and not a shadow. The still also shows the RPG. I would suggest taking off the blinders.
Are you watching the 17-minute tape?
It is very clear they had weapons and if journalists are going to be hanging around terrorists/insurgents, without ANY markings that designate them as press, let this be a cautionary tale for them to consider in the future.
that is my point exactly. what do you think that these drone attacks are doing right now? BOTH presidents have put us in a position to breed terrorists in foreign countries, while leaving our borders wide open.
NOT A GOOD POSITION TO BE IN, IMO.
Really? Your point is that because some guys in a helicopter in 2007 shot civilians in Iraq, and NOW (2010) we have drones operating in the war zones, that it is somehow OBAMA'S fault that the 2007 incident took place and that that type of action creates terrorists. It is difficult to involve obama in this topic, IMO.

If this incident was as straightforward as you imply, just one question: Why did our government and military try to hide it?
I disagree with your visual perception. It is not "very clear" they had weapons.

Hmmm and a helicopter knowledgeable poster said that the helicopter was 1 mile away. Kinda negates your comment.
Helis were indeed 1 mile away, even more...
Check the time elapsed between the sound of the shots & the rounds hitting...the ground...
The shooting was not so precise, our troops need better training...and better salaries
Also,one gunship malfunctioned,after firing a few rounds...
