This is why long ago, the Senators actually represented their states best interest in government legislature.
Senators were not directly elected by the people. They were voted on in State legislatures, to keep the states best interest in mind.
Thus the 2/3rds majority. Because some state could not gang up on other states.
The Senate has just become another House.
We need to go back, yes back, to what our founding fathers designed after a life time of tyranny from England. We are headed to tyranny again. The exact thing our founding fathers fought so hard to keep us free.
When the people fear the government as your seeing, you will have tyranny.
When the government fears the people. You see it building and the current administration is trying every trick in the book, to silence them, you will have liberty.
You saw the exact reason the founding fathers set up the Senate the way they did. Only to have it changed by the Progressive movement.

Choice is a moot point when you're forced to make a "choice."
This is the crux of the problem, not the fact that an exchange is being created.
You make a choice to obey the laws of the land every single day. Why should buying health insurance be any different? You are free, for example, to drive 100 miles an hour...but will suffer the consequence if you get caught. You also suffer the consequence if you're caught driving without car insurance or not sending your kids to school, or if you dump motor oil in a stream. Life is full of laws that you may or may not like.
The Republicans want badly to knock off Harry Reid. They want it really badly. To be honest I want it too. I think he is a weak leader which brings me to why the Republicans might want to think about what they are wishing for.
The fact is that the Senate will most likely be safely in Democratic hands after November. The Republicans will not take over the Senate. And, if they knock off Harry, next in line will be Durbin. Unlike Harry, Durbin is much more of a leader and he is not scared to bust the Republicans or by pass the fillibuster if he feels the need to do so. He is not going to put up with the Republicans tricks and filibusters for very long. So maybe the Republicans had better think about what they wish for.
Why do you think its not possible for Republicans to take back the Senate?
