San Antonio Bishop (and Future Los Angeles Cardinal) Jose Gomez vows to be an "Advocate" for "Immigrants".Gomez vows to be an advocate for L.A.'s immigrants, the less fortunate | L.A. NOW | Los Angeles Times
What immigrants????Illegal aliens???Taking care of his own???
What about being an Advocate for the countless young boys molested and harmed by Catholic Priests?Didn't Los Angeles pay out over 600 million to settle some of these cases awhile back.

If the Catholic Church wants to play Politics then it should have it's Tax Exempt status revoked.

The Catholic church needs to deal with it's Pedophilia epidemic(Yes it IS worldwide). And then revisit it's stone age stance on birth control that causes needless, unwanted births, poverty and even more suffering amongst the poor and uneducated. After that then they might have room to talk.

The church must agree with Gomez's policies as he was promoted. Go figure.

Good for him,
Looks like he knows that God doesn't believe in borders either.

BTW, he said "Immigrants" not "Illegal immigrants"

Doesn't matter what he said, he MEANT illegal aliens. And the church needs them... those of the non-illegal non-latino ethnicities have left in droves. Plates are more close to empty.

Exactly,I also don't understand the Catholic Church's stance on Gays either since a good portion of their Priests are probably closeted Homosexuals.God knows they also have numerous Pedophiles also, something they have trouble admitting, but no trouble hiding and protecting.

Who in their right mind is going to donate to this "Church" when a good portion of your donation is funding Lawyers to protect Pedophiles, pay settlements and fund Pedophile Retirements? Of course they are going to "embrace" the less sophiticated and blind as their new devotees.

You know what he meant. Don't be silly. It makes you look silly.

Catholocism is a large reason why many countries whose national religion is such are mired in poverty. It reminds me of an old comic I saw in a Hustler magazine. It showed a bunch of priests at the catholic national convention talking to each other looking up at the pope who was speaking. In the quote it said "If the pope allows us to marry women, can we still **** little boys too?" I thought that summed things up fairly well.
