I was just watching FOX "News", don't ask why, but they were reporting a piece on the difficulty of getting recruits capable of Seal training. The Navy is targeting athletes from sports like soccer, etc. in hopes to attract more physically capable people. This is a good idea. Funny thing is, the caption at the bottom of the screen was "Navy set sites on athletes for Seals"? Sites? Do you wonder where the TPers get their problem with spelling?
It's almost as bad as Obama calling Navy Corpsemen dead people.
Or Clinton saying the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness was in the constitution.
Complaining to my close circle of friends about how Bush was stomping all over the Constitution. Other than these few friends, I kept my mouth closed about politics. I believe in a strict definition of the Constitution and that most federal laws are currently unconstitutional. I thought I was a nut job. After the TEA Party events started getting publicity I saw that I wasn't alone in my beliefs.
.
Well, at least you're being honest, which is rather refreshing coming from your side.
However, your admitted hesitancy to speak out against the Bush administration, and you sure weren't alone among the right, only serves to prove my point about the extreme partisanship within the tea party movement..
So the same people that wanted Colin Powell to run for president in 1996 and 2000 are now racist?
Makes sense.
You know you stated this in another thread, but what proof do you actually have that these are the same people? As I've stated earlier the same Mccain/Palin supporters from the HBO documentary "Right America feeling wronged" are the same angry ass tea party members. The only beef I have with that documentary is that they waited until they went to the South to expose the racist motivations behind some of the voters. Racism lurks in every corner of the U.S.
C'mon... It's so incredibly obvious that you have a problem with white people, it's beyond ridiculous. Just look at your posts in this forum - every one of them is a hate fest against whites.
<snipped out all the personal and needless redundancies>
I am "white" (three-fourths) and I don't see him as a hater at all. I am not from a southern state nor were my ancestors, so don't even try the "white guilt" thing on me. My family has only been in the US for a couple of generations and we are mixed-race.
I think that a fairly substantial, but unquantifiable amount of "conservative" Americans' distrust of Obama stems from his skin color. I only need to hear "Chicago Thug!" and the like, more than a few times to know discrimination when I see it. Not to mention right-wing pundits making use of his skin color to create "jokes". An ex girlfriend of mine is all into the tea partier thing and she calls Obama an African ape who she says she will never recognize as president - on her Facebook status. Like moths to a flame, more right-wing racists respond to her. I had to make a special feed to put her and a couple of other nutters into because it got so bad. Then there's the "libertarians" where I work... heh... the racist jokes with regard to Obama are the staple diet these days.
You may personally not allow race to creep into it - but others certainly do.
That said, I differ from the OP in that I don't think it's just the Tea Party. They are just the focal point - the beam of a magnifying glass. There is plenty of distrust on the right due to race and it isn't just coming from Tea Partiers.
You all posting in this thread may not personally be racist but that hardly means it doesn't exist and it's that sort of attitude - refusing to acknowledge prejudice - that has historically contributed to delaying or denying equal rights progress for women and minorities.
One more time. Show me an example of the TEA PARTIERS protesting against Bush.
Not a blog, not some rallies that conveniently "were not called Tea Party Protests yet"...but some real live anti Bush protesting [expletive removed]..

The "Tea Party" movement was started under Bush's presidency by Ron Paul supporters. After Obama took office and started spending like a dozen drunken sailors - right in the middle of the worst economy in 80 years - other people started waking up.
You know you stated this in another thread, but what proof do you actually have that these are the same people? As I've stated earlier the same Mccain/Palin supporters from the HBO documentary "Right America feeling wronged" are the same angry ass tea party members. Not that difficult.
Republicans wanted Colin Powell to run for president in 1996 and 2000. Tea Party people are republicans. And old enough to have been around in 1996 and 2000.
It's not a stretch to say that Tea Party people have no problem with a black person being president.
I never saw the HBO documnetary. I'm sure it was very even handed. LOLs.
Hows come the Democrats turned their back on Hillary? I think the Dems hate women.
Dude, I wasn't calling you racist. If I did I apologize.
I was referring to the lefties.
I know you weren't and neither that nor this reply is aimed at you. I was just using your comment to add my opinions.
I'm disagreeing that everyone is scared of being labeled a racists. I attend Tea Party functions. If there was a "membership" then I would be a member. If that makes me a racist in some people's minds then so be it. Anyone who has been through Algebra 1 knows that if A=B and B=C then A=C. Based on that, Tea Party members = racist. Robert_J is a Tea Party "member". So call me whatever you want to in this forum. I'll be at the April 15 local event. Find me there and get to know me. Otherwise name calling just makes you guys (not you Ohio) look like elementary school kids on the playground.
