The problem in Haiti and elsewhere, while we still have tent cities right here in the U.S.

Was walking through a mall the other day in the L.A. area and a store had a "Donate for Haiti Fund" sign or whatever.

Struck me a bogus when there's a tent city in th L.A. area.

I guess because it doesn't get a news coverage, who cares right?

And there's certainly been homeless in the area long before Haiti got hit.

Talk about "fashionable charities" or whatever.

That too. If you don't agree, don't donate.

Who gets upset about people trying to raise support for the poorest country in the hemisphere after it has its capital city destroyed by a massive earthquake?

How do you know the people that are donating to the Haiti support funds don't also donate to charitable funds in the U.S.?

Should we just ignore everything that happens in the rest of world as long as we have social problems of our own?

Seriously, wtf.

Yes, we should solve the problems at home first, the only exception being if the problems abroad threaten our situation.

Who ever jumps in and helps the U.S. really?

I agree. 100 percent. I am against all the US helping anyone or anything until we are ok at home. A sinking ship should not load more people/trouble on it.

And when this happens to the US, who helps? Did anyone donate to the Earthquakes? Did anyone donate to Rhode Island Flooding? Nope. I am against it 100 percent.
