Are you kidding even if we were not there, they would hate our freaking guts. Because of what we stand for as Americans, They hate the fact, that we do have freedom, we speak our mind, we dress the way we want, we disagree with our Government and let our voices be heard, they hate everything Western Culture is all about. I don't know that we can say that this is Obama's War, this is a war because of the hatred for Americans these people have, and they showed us that on September 11th.
In your heart of hearts do you really believe all this is because of bell bottom jeans or polyester? Seriously, do you? America is so freaking far from any of those uptight Muslim freedom haters that until 9/11 all this "they hate our freaking guts because of our freedom" crap was a theory in search of a proof. Now we have proof. No, we do not. We know very clearly why we were attacked and none of it has to do with the way we dress or how some of you disrespect our President. A couple of ocean's keep us well isolated from trouble but no, we have to go looking for it in the name of revenge. How is that working for us? There is actually something Muslims hate worse than our decadence and it is our ignorance.

what the heck is wrong with people? if we don't establish a chain of responsibility we cannot begin to fix a problem. the problem with all long wars is that administrations change and agendas change, but the poor soldiers are just stuck in the middle.

Just the fact that Afghanistan is still a troubling conflict nearly nine years after Bush invaded is a strong indication of massive failure.
But now, the US troops are taking part in “hold and build” operations in FATA, coordinating the operations of the various Pakistani military and civilian authorities in the region.
The Pentagon is now said to be seeking the creation of a $10 million pool for the “trainers” in the nation, to be used for discretionary “hearts and minds” spending, likely mostly on humanitarian aid projects.
How original. Hint: Obama could have pulled the troops out as soon as he took office.
