Maybe we can all AGREE on this: The Transparency in All Health Care Pricing Act of 2010. It would require all health care providers- hospitals, physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, dentists, and insurers to post prices, including on the internet.

As far as I know it's just a House bill (H.R. 4700).http://www.washingtonwatch.com/bills...l?view=discuss
If you're for it, call your House representative and let him/her know you want them to be a co-sponsor for the bill.

Here's an idea..... how about we co-sponsor a bill that allows ins. co's to actually compete against one another across state lines to drive costs down.... and throw in a little tort reform to put further downward pressure on the costs instead of posting prices of how expensive our current hc is now and will be tomorrow due to the latest bs hc bill !

Or, how about co-sponsoring a bill that actually does something.... Hows that sound ?!

Transparency is pretty much always a good thing. But, we have a HC Law. How about we send people to Congress that will move that process along?

What does this idea of across state lines bring that competition from within a state doesn't? Tort reform... well, nothing beats the idea that takes away whatever is left for the consumers.

Having said that, your post is just a diversion, and contributes nothing to the topic at hand. I'm all for the kind of transparency proposed in the OP. Aren't you?

Your terminology is pure socialist propaganda...

We have a universal healthcare system.

80% of users pay for it,
20 % are freescates who don't pay & have it for free, paid by other people's taxes...

So,USA has UHC...

What exactly does the law aim to achieve? A menu of prices? What does that accomplish?

My particular itch about medical transparency is that doctors should have to disclose to their patients any income or gratuities they receive from pharmaceutical companies as consultants or for studies they are involved in and so on.

I have a plan that would save millions in man hours.

ONE form.

All insurances and agencies want the same information, yet they all have their own form that needs filled out.

Why not ONE form and make copies?????

To easy???

Do you mean transparency with the sole intent of exposing influence peddling? Influence = I buy you a watch, you peddle my prescription drug. That kind of income/gifts?
