Months after President Obama urged federal agencies last year to cut wasteful spending, the U.S. Department of State paid $3,814 to fill an order of Jack Daniel's whiskey for gratuities at one of its many overseas embassies.
Yep, i'm pretty sure I pointed out in the multiple "wine and strippers for the RNC" threads that those who crow about RNC spending would really be appalled by what their taxpayer dollars were being spent on by the Government. And, as usual, I was castigated by liberals as if wasteful spending is relegated only to outside political operatives of the opposite party. Here's to the dumbasses.
The thing that gets me is that the State Dept is the official face of our country overseas that represents you and me. Is this the lens that I want to be seen through? They are spending our hard-earned dollars to give away liquor during a deep recession and foreign-made liquor no less! What does the alchohol give us? World peace? I think not. I think our nukes give us that. Increased trade? Nope. Let the State Dept employees buy the liquor out of their own pockets.

Well see how much they care about it now since its our tax dollars. I doubt it will be to much there will be excuses made about how we need to provide this type of thing for others enjoyment or some lame excuse

no wonder people think we are a bunch of drunk Americans lol no really I hear ya
I would like to include they need to buy their own meals also
No Differenceeeeeeeeee Republicians Democrats, one in the same here, they bring a new meaning to why they don't know what the hek they are talking about in the W.H. they are a bunch of drunks, i get it now, If you had to look at the likes of Pelosi and Reid, some others too, you would be drinking. Nice to know, while we are in a recession, they are out boozing it up, how nice of them.
What you have to realize is, if you had to clean up George W. Bush's mess, and make nice with all kinds of new people just to get them to talk to you, you would have a few drinks as well.
But let's put it in persepective...just under $300k in '09. Okay, new President, mend relations, all the receptions/balls/gala's that go hand in hand with that not to mention smoothing over ruffled feathers from W. $140,000 in '08 and $160,000 in each of '06 & 07, but a whopping $216,430 in '05 that when compared with '04's bill I want to know what the hell happened, especially since '04's bill was $64,280. JUST UNDER 4x the bill of 2004.
Hmph..I guess that was to keep the "coalition of the willing"...err...willing. But it sure does look like from the bill, that after '05, no one...AND I MEAN NO ONE wanted to have a drink with us. NO ONE. Go figure.
LOL!
