I was saving money on $325 per month.

I think that I have figured out how to get through this current mess with a growing economy. There is a bit of moral hazard but you can't have everything.

Like cleaning up streets etc is usally a community service.
If you can list all the costs of these functions that are done instead what would save money then paying a government employee I think 5 dollars would be fine. Of course that is below the min wage and in a country were someone wants to work below a mandated wage would never get the job. Unions and socialist would kill you.

You know you could just get a JOB like the real world. Someone is always looking to pay someone to do anything in this country.
Part of the problem that I am/was facing is an 8 year gap in employment. I was out of the habit of working. After having been out of work for a bit it has taken me two or three jobs to get back into the swing of things. Get a job mess up get fired get a new job mess up get fired then get one that sticks. In this economy there are not enough jobs to get the turnover short enough to get back into the swing of things.

I do have a medical condition that has been hard to figure out. (Not eating some stuff) Gluten.

The community service job that I'm doing is a cut above average. The Mormons have a bishops store house as part of their welfare system. I work in the meat department there.

Most humans are creatures who have a need to have a purpose in life.
When I read the thread title I had some thoughts of what is this about.
I have never been out of work for more than a few weeks since I was 12 years old. I grew up on a dairy farm.
I have never collected and have no clue how one might sign up.
I couldn't imagine vegetating for years. What does 1 do when they don't work and live on a very fixed income?
I am not judging you but I just can't imagine life that was so restricted.

Mine was not by choice. If my fat intake gets too low I go coo coo. That will make it so you can't work. Also there are some things that I can't eat. Eating them makes it so I can't keep a job. I am now eating correctly and my life is so different.

I didn't collect. I wasn't doing well enough to go through the application process successfully.

Speaking just for me . I've got Asperger's. I can live inside of my head no problem. Tesla had it too he could see in his head a new machine with enough detail that he could see where it would wear and fix it before it was built. I'm about 80% of where he said he was. I have multiple new worlds in my head. Tesla saw the internet 100 years ago. He didn't have all of the stuff to make the computers but he saw the possibility of it. I do the same thing I see how one small change will ripple through the whole* world.

[quote=tinman01;14280928]In terms of doing stuff that requires money my life was very restricted. But it set the rest of my mind free to do stuff that can't be fully described here.

*I added a new word today, whole. I'm happy.

I'd say you have a plan! 20 weeks unemployment, then you work where you want. Now, I would support it so that you can earn the same amount at UE work pay you at the same number of hours as you had before losing your job.

We could have people fixing homes, feeding the hungry, and actually being positive to society rather than only taking.

It has been a bit too long for an up date. I fell in love it went badly and that really hurt my job performance. Well I have put that behind me and now things are looking up.
