The issues that Obama has been fighting alongside ACORN on are the housing, workplace, environmental, educational, financial, and voting rights of minority and other Americans living in typcially urban but also rural low- and moderate-income communities all across the country. I should take it, I suppose, that you are in fact opposed to such people having -- or at least actually exercising -- any of those rights. Nice...
As long as someone like Bertha Lewis is the partner that Barack Obama finds suitable to do business with, yes, you are absolutely correct. I do not support such programs.
There are decent, well-meaning people out there who are far better suited for the head of such a role. Bertha Lewis is not that person. The fact that liberals here don't have a problem with Bertha Lewis is very telling.

Tax dollars go to ACORN for completion of work on typically HUD-let contracts and projects that they have bid on and won. These projects are incumbent upon the Secretary of HUD by law established by Congress. ACORN has been one of the most competent and capable contractors that HUD has had for many years.

YEAH RIGHT! Where does ACORN get the money to do the things that they do, like bus people into polling places or go around and hold seminars and meetings. They don't "make" any money so where does it come from?

Ah, but you see DC, Ms. Lewis is not simply promoting socialism. Ms. Lewis is doing so with taxpayer dollars. If she wants to march on the National Mall and push her social agenda in an individual capacity, that's her right under the Constitution. But as far as taxdollars are concerned, she has the fiduciary duty to ensure that those taxdollars are spent efficiently and in the "public interest." As long as my taxdollars are being used to push an ideology and a program that is not consistent with the "public good", I, and every other person in this nation reserve the right to move beyond "honest debate" and into an area of response that knows few boundaries, especially when she engages in the same vitriol.

I stand by my comment, specifically because it was in response to the liberal who earlier stated that he/she needed to see some proof that Barack Obama has openly stated his undying support for ACORN. Anyone who's been paying attention knows that ACORN is wrought with problems. (Prostitutes anyone? Tax liens anyone?) When that video was posted, it was clear and unwavering evidence that Barack Obama does indeed have undying support for a corrupt organization. He said so himself. Although I did generalize, I make no apologies because of the proliferation of equally undying support and defense for ACORN exhibited right here on this forum. Those liberals that support such a corrupt organization should be embarrassed to even consider dignity as one of their foregoing qualities.
