Members of legislative bodies, whether it be the Congress or state legislatures, have several important tasks to see to: Consituency Service, Overight, etc., but by far the most important is casting votes on bills, resolutions and other measure before the body for vote.

In the main, there are two votes that can be cast, Yea (or Yes), or Nay (or No). A yea vote is in favor of passage, and a no vote is against passage. All straight forward so far.

However, there is another vote that can be cast by a legislator, perhaps not available in all legislative bodies, that can be cast that indicates neither yea or nay, and is cast to preserve a members voting record, while allowing he or she to recuse themselves from a particular issue (often due to a conflict of interest). It is not commonly used, and most legislators rarely, if ever use it.

However, it can also be used for a purpose other than recusal - to avoid taking a stand on an issue for strictly political purposes. It is basically a coward's way out of taking a stand - or, shall we say, doing their job. It is a legisltors job to make the hard decisions and take the hard stands for the benefit of his or her consitutents - not to duck and run like a cowardly POS seeking protection like a little girl.

In recent years, a member of a state senate used the gutless worm's way out of doing his or her job and did so 130 times in an brief career in that body. 130 times the craven POS ran like a little baby girl at the sight of "responsibility", "duty" and even "doing his (or her) job".

Where, you ask, did this coward POS duck and cover like frightened little puppy hiding from a thunderstorm? The Illinois Senate.

And the gutless worm's name, you ask?

Barack Hussein Obama

It wasn't a secret. The people wanted him anyway as the election turned out.
They didn't care about his voting record or didn't know or bother to look it up.
It's wasn't publicized in the MSM but I looked it up..at least there were a few tidbits of information and data on Obama's past and record before that November 2008 election. But not enough to let me make an informed decision so he got chopped from my short list but quick.

On the Dem side..I preferred Hillary and she was ahead and then took a plunge but quick to Obama.
Still wondering why and how that happened.

The fact that this wasn't widely reported, and given or the lightest possible coverage possible is, IMHO, an example of just how "in-the-bag" the media is for the Demcrat party and leftist causes.

Had Sarah Palin let 130 bills go "pocket veto", there cries of outrage and criticism would still be echoing across America.

With the internet available to all, doing a bit of research on voting records is not hard at all.
I follow several Texas reps to see how they are doing.

Are any of the Texas reps (part timers, I know) as gutless and the POS in the White House so as to vote "present" so often, or are they people of stubstance, of value, of worth to their fellow man, unlike the POS in the White House?

Ron Paul is the only Texas Rep that walks the walk and his voting record is consistent with his speeches.

Kay "bailout" Hutchison is all blather with no guts. She came down here to Texas to campaign for Governor. People did not forget that she voted yes for TARP and sent her packing back to DC.
