I rarely link to blogs, but I found this article to be really interesting and provocative.
Imagine that hundreds of black protesters were to descend upon Washington DC and Northern Virginia, just a few miles from the Capitol and White House, armed with AK-47s, assorted handguns, and ammunition. And imagine that some of these protesters —the black protesters — spoke of the need for political revolution, and possibly even armed conflict in the event that laws they didn’t like were enforced by the government? Would these protesters — these black protesters with guns — be seen as brave defenders of the Second Amendment, or would they be viewed by most whites as a danger to the republic? What if they were Arab-Americans?
Imagine that white members of Congress, while walking to work, were surrounded by thousands of angry black people, one of whom proceeded to spit on one of those congressmen for not voting the way the black demonstrators desired. Would the protesters be seen as merely patriotic Americans voicing their opinions, or as an angry, potentially violent, and even insurrectionary mob? After all, this is what white Tea Party protesters did recently in Washington.
Imagine that a black pastor, formerly a member of the U.S. military, were to declare, as part of his opposition to a white president’s policies, that he was ready to “suit up, get my gun, go to Washington, and do what they trained me to do.” This is, after all, what Pastor Stan Craig said recently at a Tea Party rally in Greenville, South Carolina.

WOW! What an absolutely great article. Thank you so much for the find. Can you even begin to think of what the reaction would be? Great food for thought people. Take a minute and be honest with yourself.
Perish the thought!! I would never make such a statement.
Nor will I take your bait.......as you did mine. I knew that the last photo was celebratory in nature and included it just to see which one of the moles here in P&OC would quickly recognize it and jump on it to "correct" me. You won....or lost, depending on how you look at it.
Sure you did..and that's not the only mistake you made..How exactly is an image that features Hispanics an example of "black protests"?

Its okay to be Rev. Wright as long as the Reverend is white.
A bunch of white protesters have been arrested in places like Seattle and Pittsburgh. So maybe there is no white privilage as some seem to think. It could just be the Tea Party are not doing anything violent. Therefore, no reason to arrest.
And how many articles and polls do we ever see about groups like La Raza? They protest all the time. Never see the press accusing them of being racist even though they are all monolithic in looks and ideas.
But Tea Party have to be diverse? nonsense. That's a diversion by the yellow-bellied press and liberals. They are a bunch of cowards when they denegrate the Tea Party.
How's come the Mexicans didn't protest when Obama and the dems said no healthcare for them? They protest all the time when something is going to be denied them. Could it be they know the healthcare bill will cover illegals? Did someone make some back room deal with Obama? Methinks so.

Brilliant. Absolutely, stunningly brilliant.
I would be willing to bet $10,000 that if a 20-year member of that church decided to run for President as a Republican, not only would they not be accused of hating America, they'd be put on a pedestal and praised for their patriotism.

Whether black blue white or orange, if a person is a legal citizen of this country they have every right to do this. It is within our constitutional rights, and the day a group of American citizens can no longer stand up to our government, is the day the principles our country were founded on will cease to exist.
No need to wonder what would happen. Anyone remember the dogs, the high power water hoses, the beatings, the arrests?
I sure do. It was sickening and shocking and I was only watching it on black and white TV. I can't imagine what it was like to actually be there.
