Agreed, but the founding fathers also detailed certain areas in which the federal government has sole authority. Currency is one. California would likely be better off printing its own currency for example, but cannot. And foreign policy and immigration is another area that falls under the sole discretion of the federal government.

AZ, needs to pass a law, that everyone must have and carry, some form of State, or federal ID.

Today more than ever, we as a nation, as a state and as a local city, or town, need to know who is among us in our communities.

The days of tight communities, where everyone knew everyone, are long gone and replaced with our nanny state programs, which separates communities.

That's just the law. Officers can intervene to prevent a crime that they have either reasonable suspicion or probable cause to believe is about to occur. The fact that you don't have even a smattering of understanding of the law doesn't change it.

No, anything that proved me wrong would be quite relevant. You just haven't produced any such thing. Your list of supposedly relevant articles was compiled for instance simply by googling "mandatory arrest laws" and then copying in the links to a few that looked promising. You never saw any of them before. None of them was even remotely relevant to the topic. Your bad on that one.

Sometimes I think the right has one foot nailed to the floor. They keep walking in circles. Endless threads on C-D about too much government interference in people's rights and freedoms from the "honorable right" and now you're talking about a manditory federal ID card for everyone.

A better question would be do you hate America? The cost of illegal immigrants are destroying this country and the schools. All you left wingers are worried about is votes for Democrats at the cost for all. Funny how you are willing to over-look the RULE of LAW for illegal immigrants

A more truthful statement would be that the republicans are worried that democrats will gain traction by addressing the illegal immigration problem. Jan Brewer's SB1070 is going to come back and bite the repubs in the butt. The repubs. have to come down for it, but they lose the entire hispanic vote in the process.

You may want to address this question to your GOP Representatives. Why do they not want to address the Immigration issue. The very first portion, at least in the House bill, is how to deal with illegal immigration, including securing the border. It is the job of our Govt to deal with this, how about we urge them to do it.

How about the legals that are being profiled yet support illegal immigration? Let them stand up and help demand our immigration laws are enforced istead of marching in our streets encouraging the law breakers. Wouldn't that be novel? If they have any complaints they should direct them to the illegal immigrants. They caused the problem.

The problem will come when US citizens start getting harassed and when the law suits start flying.

No legal Hispanic citizen that I know or have ever known supports illegal immigration. However, they do not, nor will they ever stand by, while laws are being passed that specificly targets them for additional police scrutiny above and beyond any other race.
