This is so whack as to defy any understanding other than the issue is her religious beliefs.

This is stupid,Jews don't serve pork either. This should be commended as pork and pork by products can be bad for your health.BTW muslims eat chicken, beef and lamb so why would this be an issue. You should try an middle Eastern restaurant sometimes, the chicken shish kabob is quite good.

What if the situation were reversed, and a muslim or an orthodox jewish child was being put in a Christian foster home. Should they be required to eat bacon or pork if their foster parent serves it? As another poster suggested, if the foster parent is a Vegan, should foster children be subjected to the same diet? What if the child has an allergy to a food regularly prepared by the foster parent?

The welfare of the child comes first. If that means that the foster parent must either alter their diet or specially prepare food for the child, then that is what they must do. If they are unwilling or unable to that, then they have no business fostering children.

I read the link, I thought there had to be another reason.

Looks like there isn't, and its religious discrimination, IMO.

Should someone be denied a chance to be a foster parent because of their diet?
This particular diet, no. I think it is absurd. But I would say there are some diets that foster home should look twice at.

It's clearly religious discrimination. Nobody needs to eat pork, there are 1000 other things to eat.

If a foster parent advocated some really whacked out diet that was unhealthy, that would be different.
