If they are guilty they should have to pay. What I find absolutely ridiculous is that this is taking over a decade to resolve, people have lives to lead. The US Justice system needs to be overhauled ASAP you can die of old age before anything can be resolved.Hopefully those wronged will be compensated fairly. It is a monumental endeavour to go up against a Monolith like Walmart. There are thousands of American workers screwed over by Big Business and also abandoned by their Unions when they most need help that never see justice. It's a shame that the Legal process at times can break the little guy.

Walmart is simply on of bigger conduits for the Chinese government to wage economic war on the US.

Walmart is the quintessential big corp. that has no regard for the community it spawned from, only see the community as something to exploit.

Default Wal-mart in biggest employment discrimination case in US history.

In a closely watched case, a sharply divided federal appeals court on Monday ruled 6-5 that a sex discrimination lawsuit against Wal-Mart could proceed as a class action for more than a million women.
***
The lawsuit, brought in 2001, accuses the retailer of systematically paying women less than men, giving them smaller raises and offering women fewer opportunities for promotion. The plaintiffs stressed that while 65 percent of Wal-Mart’s hourly employees were women, only 33 percent of the company’s managers were.
***
“Never before has such a low bar been set for certifying such a gargantuan class,” [dissenting] Judge Sandra S. Ikuta wrote. Such a suit would leave large companies vulnerable “based on nothing more than general and conclusory allegations, a handful of anecdotes and statistical disparities that bear little relation to the alleged discriminatory decisions.”

Walmarts hiring and employment practices have been wrong for years. Sub standard pay to workers, insurance that is a joke and will take everything the worker makes. As a conservative, I believe employers should pay their help enough to take the worries off the employees. When I owned my excavation company, and the operators union mob man came to my employees, I told them it would be up to them if they wanted to join the union or not. Funny thing is that I already provided more for my help and paid them more than the union stl area demanded. My guys and gal ran the union clown off. But as much as i distrust most unions after being sold out by them , walmart workers need to stand up now together and form their own union. Just keep that union out of politics as the unions have no place in the political world.

there is nothing stopping people from buying american goods at walmart, except possibly their own stupidity. it isn't like walmart bans american goods. the walmart bashers are mostly just pro union people and we all see what the unions were willing to do to sell out their fellow americans, both with the GM bailout and health care "reform"/mandatory insurance purchase.

i will agree that people should support ALL their neighborhood stores whenever possible to help keep their own communities thriving and allow themselves options when shopping, but this walmart bashing is detrimental to the largest private employer in america. i suppose that the unions would love a government run walmart and only then would they be happy.

of course, then americans might be paying 1,000 dollars for a hammer.

I would have to agree with the dissenting judge. Since when does company management have to reflect the makeup of the company as a whole?

Will this mean that women owend businesses will have to start hiring and promoting more men into management, if they win this case?

These things never turn out well for anybody.

I see some here have already found them guilty without seeing the evidence based simply on their hatred of Walmart. Low pay for Walmart employees? First off, Walmart pays it's employees above minimum wage for what is basicly minimum wage level job. Sales associates at Walmart are basicly shelf stockers who sometimes operate a cashregister that practically runs itself. How dare Walmart pay only a little above minimum wage for very low skilled employee job positions!
